GWS pair Isaac Cumming and Braydon Preuss will depart the Giants in very different circumstances as Harry Perryman weighs up $5 million deals to depart as a free agent.

Half back Cumming told the Giants on Tuesday in his exit meeting he wanted to move to Adelaide, with both the Crows and Port Adelaide in contention for his services.

Both clubs are offering four-year deals with no firm favourite established yet as the 26-year-old Broken Hill junior, who was a Giants academy member, considers his future.

Cumming might believe he is in the premiership window at the Power, while Adelaide will pitch certainty over its future, given Ken Hinkley might hand over the coaching reins to Josh Carr at some stage within the next 12 months.

It comes as veteran defender Nick Haynes confirmed he would leave the club as a free agent after 13 years.

“As an inaugural player and life member of the club, we’ve watched him grow into the player, person and now father that he is today,” Giants football boss Jason McCartney said.

“We thank him for being a valuable member of our club for such a long time and we wish him and his family nothing but the best.”

Haynes, who played 211 games for GWS, is expected to join Carlton.

GWS is confident that James Peatling will sign a three-year deal despite four-year offers from multiple rival clubs after he showed he was a star of the future in the back-half of the season for the Giants.

Preuss will be delisted and has known for some time, so is already assessing his options in the VFL.

The former Melbourne player was a physical, strong-bodied ruckman but played only 28 games across eight years at the Demons and GWS.

He was stuck behind Max Gawn and then later Kieren Briggs as a spate of injuries curtailed his progress.

Half back Perryman has been offered six-year deals at Port Adelaide and GWS, with reports on Tuesday, Collingwood was keen on the free agent as well.

The Pies will lose John Noble to Gold Coast and missed out on former full back Mark Keane, who signed a new deal at the Crows.

Multiple clubs believe the Power has offered a seventh-year trigger for Perryman but Port Adelaide is staying that, at this stage, its offer is only six years.

The deal is believed to be as much as $850,000 a year at the Power, while Hawthorn had strong early interest but is not offering a contract of that size.

GWS will be desperate to keep Perryman, given Cumming has already told the club he will be leaving as an unrestricted free agent.

While the club has so much talent, the pair are both excellent kicks and give the Giants strength behind the ball as Lachie Whitfield and Lachie Ash are tasked with more offensive roles.
