The trade merry-go-round is heating up and the futures of more stars becoming clear as the AFL trade period draws closer.
From Josh Battle and Tom Barrass declaring they want to play Hokball to Bailey Smith requesting a trade, there are already a host of big names set to be on the move.

ADELAIDE
– Alex Neal-Bullen has nominated the Crows as his preferred club after requesting a trade to South Australia.
– Mark Keane has re-signed after being linked with his former club Collingwood.
– Jack Lukosius has asked Gold Coast to be traded to Port Adelaide, spurning interest from the Crows. Lukosius’ teammate Malcolm Rosas is another player being considered.
– GWS defender IsaacCumming has joined the Crows via free agency.
– Elliott Himmelberg has moved to Gold Coast Suns via free agency.
— James Peatling has flagged he wants to join the Crows.
BRISBANE LIONS
– Deven Robertson is expected to attract interest again after knocking back West Coast to re-sign for two seasons last year.
– Otherwise appear to be focused on securing Levi Ashcroft and academy talent Sam Marshall at the draft.
— The Grand Finalists have been linked with out-of-favour Carlton forward Matt Owies.
CARLTON
– One of the leading suitors for Dan Houston, but struggling to find a deal Port Adelaide is interested in. The Blues’ first offer was reportedly described as ‘delusional’.
– Small forward Matt Owies’ future is up in the air as he’s yet to re-sign. Owies has reportedly met with clubs including Gold Coast and West Coast.
– GWS defender Nick Haynes has crossed to Princes Park as a free agent.
– Essendon’s Jayden Laverde has been touted as an option to bolster the club’s defensive depth.
– Out-of-contract forward Jack Martin will join Geelong as a delisted free agent after asking the Blues to delist him.
– Were linked to Christian Petracca in a blockbuster move involving Harry McKay that has been shut down by both players.
– Matt Kennedy and Lewis Young have been told they can look elsewhere.
COLLINGWOOD
— Have signed Harry Perryman as a free agent on a long-term deal worth at least $850k-a-season. GWS received pick 16 as compensation.
– Mark Keane has re-signed at Adelaide after being linked with the Magpies.
– Showed interest in fringe Gold Coast on-baller Alex Davies, but he has since re-signed.
– Linked to Essendon’s former No. 13 draft pick Ben Hobbs as they plan for life after Pendlebury, Sidebottom and co.
— Craig McRae has ruled out a move for Essendon forward Jake Stringer.
— Reportedly asked about Port Adelaide’s young key forward Ollie Lord.
ESSENDON
– The Bombers have shut down speculation linking Zach Merrett with St Kilda.
– Defender Jayden Laverde could head to rival Carlton.
– Ben Hobbs’ future uncertain after only playing 12 games — linked to Richmond and Collingwood.
– No. 5 draft pick Elijah Tsatas has admirers after being stuck in the VFL for much of the year.
– Dylan Shiel continues to be linked with a move away from Tullamarine, with St Kilda a potential destination.
– Jake Stringer could reportedly be on his way out of the club after not being offered a two-year deal. It won’t be to Collingwood or Sydney though who have both ruled themselves out.
— Linked with St Kilda forward Tim Membrey and Brisbane halfback Jaxon Prior.
— Keen to lure Hawthorn midfielder Finn Maginness, who is contracted for 2025.
— Linked to West Coast defender Josh Rotham for defensive depth.
— Showing interest in former top-15 draftee Conor Stone.
FREMANTLE
– Liam Baker has chosen to join West Coast.
– The Dockers have early picks which could satisfy Richmond for Shai Bolton.
– Were said to be into Kysaiah Pickett amid reports of homesickness, but he’s more likely to stay at Melbourne.
– Off-contract Carlton forward Jack Martin reportedly had a medical but has instead opted to join Geelong.
— In the mix for Sydney superstar Chad Warner, but he’s more likely to return to his home state next year.
GEELONG
– Frontrunner to land Bailey Smith after he requested a trade from Western Bulldogs to the Cats.
– Linked with Clayton Oliver should he leave Melbourne.
– The Cats were reportedly circling All-Australian forward Jake Waterman.
– Linked with Jack Macrae after he asked to be traded, but he has since nominated St Kilda.
– The Cats will sign Jack Martinas a delisted free agent after he was cut by Carlton.
GOLD COAST SUNS
– Coach Damien Hardwick has met with Dustin Martin over a bombshell move to the Suns — but the chances are drifting of Martin backflipping on his retirement.
— Daniel Rioli has requested a trade to the Suns from Richmond.
– John Noble shocked Collingwood by asking to be traded to Gold Coast.
– Jack Lukosius has been told he can explore his options by the Suns and asked to be traded to Port Adelaide.
– Malcolm Rosas has been told he can explore his options, but is more likely to stay.
– Have signed Elliott Himmelberg via free agency.

– Rory Atkins is reportedly open to joining a third club after finishing second in the VFL’s Liston Trophy count.
— The Suns have shown interest in Carlton small forward Matt Owies.
GWS GIANTS
– Free agent Harry Perryman was joined Collingwood. GWS will receive pick 16 as compensation.
– Isaac Cumming will join Adelaide as a free agent.
– James Peatling has also requested a move to the Crows.
— Wade Derksen wants to be traded to a Victorian club, but the Giants say they are prepared to hold the swingman to his contract.
— Xavier O’Halloran is attracting rival interest, including from Western Bulldogs.
— The Giants have been linked to Jake Stringer and confirmed they have held preliminary talks with his management.
HAWTHORN
– Josh Battle has crossed from St Kilda as a free agent. The Saints received pick eight as compensation.
– Set to land West Coast defender Tom Barrass in a trade.
— Midfielder Finn Maginness has interest from rivals including Essendon.
— Sam Frost is set to stay at Waverley despite the defensive arrivals and interest from clubs including Sydney.
MELBOURNE
– Were seen as the frontrunner for Dan Houston but he has since cooled on joining the Demons.
– Uncapped GWS ruck-forward Wade Derksen could join as a back-up to skipper Max Gawn after requesting a trade to Victoria. GWS may hold him to his contract though.
– The Demons are yet to make a final call on whether Clayton Oliver will be traded. The star on-baller wants to join Geelong.
– Christian Petracca has ruled out leaving after being disgruntled.
– Key defender Adam Tomlinson is likely to move on for more AFL opportunities.

NORTH MELBOURNE
– Alastair Clarkson named Luke Parker, Ollie Wines and Callan Ward among a host of veterans the club was considering. Parker has asked for a trade to Arden St, the other two won’t be joining.
– Put a big offer to Richmond defender Nathan Broad, but he will stay at Punt Road.
– Poised to trade a late draft pick to West Coast for Jack Darling, who will reportedly sign a deal longer than one year with performance-related triggers.
– The latest club to be linked to Dan Houston, with Port Adelaide chasing early picks that the Roos have.
— Said to have interest in Caleb Daniel, who is yet to declare if he wants to be traded by Western Bulldogs.
PORT ADELAIDE
– Dan Houston has asked to be traded to Victoria weeks after he publicly said he was staying atg Port Adelaide.
– The Power were one of the favourites to secure Harry Perryman but were blown out of the water by Collingwood. Perryman has joined the Pies as a free agent.
– Collingwood small forwardJoe Richards and fringe Western Bulldogs midfielder Riley Garcia are reportedly targets.
– Set to land Jack Lukosius, likely for a future first-round pick,but Alex Neal-Bullen has chosen Adelaide.
— Ruckman Ivan Soldo wants to be traded to St Kilda.
— The AFL website is reporting Ollie Lord has interest from Collingwood and Melbourne after Jack Lukosius nominated the Power.
— Missed out on Isaac Cumming, who has opted to join Adelaide.
— Defender Tom Clurey, who last played AFL in round 3, 2023, has been linked to West Coast.
RICHMOND
– Daniel Rioli (Gold Coast) and Liam Baker (West Coast) have requested trades.
– Free agent Jack Graham has been strongly linked to West Coast on a four-year deal.
– Shai Bolton is hoping to be traded to Western Australia, with Fremantle his likely suitor.
– Linked to young Essendon midfielders Ben Hobbs and Elijah Tsatas as the club plans for its next era.
– Nathan Broad turned down North Melbourne interest and will stay.
ST KILDA
– Have lost Josh Battle to Hawthorn, receiving pick eight as compensation.
– Have significant salary cap room and have been linked to Victorian Andrew Brayshaw.
– Bulldog Jack Macrae has asked to be traded to the Saints.
– Port Adelaide ruckman Ivan Soldo wants to become a Saint after one year in South Australia.
– The Saints and Bombers have shut down speculation linking St Kilda with a ‘godfather’ offer for Zach Merrett.
SYDNEY
– Luke Parker has requested a trade to North Melbourne.
– Peter Ladhams reportedly has rival interest after losing his spot to Brodie Grundy.
– Small forward Jacob Konstanty remains without a deal beyond 2024. His manager David Trotter told the AFL website “he’s got a couple of clubs that really liked him in his draft year.” Konstanty was the No. 20 draft pick in 2022.
— Said to be interested in Hawthorn’s Sam Frost, although the defender is more likely to stay at Waverley.
WEST COAST
– Liam Baker has asked to be traded from Richmond to the Eagles.
– Free agent Jack Graham looks more likely to join the club after Andrew McQualter was named coach. A four-year deal has been mooted.
– Shai Bolton is expected to join Fremantle if he is traded. The Dockers have more trade capital to satisfy Richmond.
– Have been linked with out-of-contract Carlton midfielder Jack Carroll, a WA product.
– Tom Barrass has nominated Hawthorn as his club of choice after asking to be traded.
— Likely to trade Jack Darling to North Melbourne for a late pick.
— Showing some interest in Port Adelaide defender Tom Clurey.
— Free agent Josh Rotham has been linked to Essendon.
— The Eagles have met with Carlton forward Matt Owies.
WESTERN BULLDOGS
– Set to lose Bailey Smith, most likely to Geelong, where Smith has asked to be traded to.
– Caleb Daniel is yet to request a trade and had a strong finish to the season.
– Jack Macrae has told the club he wants to be traded to St Kilda after losing his spot in the 22.
– Rory Lobb is poised to stay at Whitten Oval after his resurgence in defence.
– Riley Garcia reportedly has interest from clubs including Port Adelaide.
– Keen on Xavier O’Halloran to replace Bailey Smith.
