POWER couple Gai and Rob Waterhouse are selling their former family home in exclusive Mosman enclave Clifton Gardens at auction with a price guide of $6 million.
The Australian racing queen and her bookmaker husband will put the property under the hammer February 27 after owning the property 32 years.
The four-bedroom property has a commanding setting on Burrawong Avenue giving it spectacular Harbour views over Shark Island to Watsons Bay and beyond.
It is also surrounded by idyllic national parkland, Taronga Zoo and some of Sydney’s finest family homes.
The Waterhouse family has owned the property since 1983, but moved out roughly four years ago. The home has been rented out in the years since.
Selling agent Sally-Anne Lawlor of 2088 Realty said Clifton Gardens is a well-sought after area, primarily because of the rare views.
“It’s a stunning location,” she said. “The beach is in walking distance and the homes are on large blocks. It’s very popular with families.”
The Waterhouse’s property is on a level block with a pool, three garages and a separate studio or guestroom.
The interior centres around a marble fireplace in the lounge and there is a “dressing” room with shoe rails and glass cabinets where Mrs Waterhouse kept hats.
Ms Lawlor said the home is still being prepared for viewing and will most likely be open for inspection the weekend of January 23.
