POLITICIANS, business leaders and celebrities came together with one thing in mind last night — our incredible city of Sydney.

The Daily Telegraph and The Sunday Telegraph’s month-long Project Sydney campaign culminated in a gala event at the Bankstown Sports Club with performances by Casey Donovanand Jess and Matt.

Veteran actor Bryan Brownwas also on hand, taking part in a question-and-answer session in front of the 400-strong crowd and regailing with tales of growing up in the area and the influence mentoring had on his career, something he now passes on to others.

A raft of familiar faces filled the room, including Michael Usher, Sandra Sully, Stephen Coniglio, Toby Greene, Jenni Baird, Kylie Gillies, Larry Emdur, Jason Hodges, Paul Murray, Natarsha Belling, Erin Holland and Matt Cooper.

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, Premier Gladys Berejiklian and business leaders including Gerry Harveyand Katie Page were also in attendance.

Up to 50 mentorships were awarded across different industries.

Channel 7’s Kylie Gillies said she chose to make Sydney home after growing up in Tamworth because it so dynamic and diverse.

“I love that my kids are now growing up here and so many opportunities,” the star said. Fellow television presenter Natarsha Belling agreed Sydney was the lucky city.

“What I love most about Sydney is that it is the most picturesque place in the world,” Belling said.
