A woman accused of a boozy drive which only ended when she allegedly ran a red light and crashed into a police car has appeared in court.
Zulfa Basha, 24, of Lethbridge Park, appeared in Blacktown Local Court on Tuesday for allegedly getting behind the wheel of a Hyundai almost four times above the legal blood alcohol limit.
Police will allege in court about 11.50pm on February 18, Basha crashed into a police car after running a red light at the intersection of Abell Rd and Richmond Rd, Marsden Park.
Police say Basha then drove from the scene before being stopped by police.
A roadside breath test allegedly returned a positive result. She was then taken to Riverstone Police Station where she returned a breath analysis reading of .189.
Basha was charged with negligent driving (no death or grievous bodily harm), interlock licence holder -not have approved device installed, not give particulars to other driver, proceed through red traffic light (not toll booth) and drive with high range PCA – second offence.
In Blacktown Local Court, Registrar Kevin Lamond told Basha that she would need to enter a plea on the next occasion and adjourned the matter for two weeks.
