Thousands of promised commuter parking spaces at local transport hubs are set to be fast-tracked as part of a $3 billion building bonanza by the NSW Government.

Construction companies are being called on to bid for the construction of around 8000 new parking spaces at train stations across NSW, and NewsLocal can reveal which public transport hubs are set to benefit.

Transport Minister Andrew Constance revealed additional parking will be rolled out at Edmondson Park, Leppington, Warwick Farm, West Ryde, Emu Plains, Schofields, Revesby, Riverwood, North Rocks, Engadine, Hornsby, Jannali, Wentworthville, Winston Hills, Casula, Tuggerah and Beverly Hills.

“The new carparks will not only benefit the community by making it easier to catch public transport, but the projects will employ around 1,000 people per day across all of the sites in engineering, construction and administration roles,” Mr Constance said.

Treasurer Dominic Perrottet invited construction companies to put their hand up for the multimillion-dollar expansion plan.

“These new car parks will be a combination of multistorey and single level facilities and we are now looking for contractors to help us deliver them,” he said.

“Interested parties should visit the eTenders website and register before September 4.”

In February 2019, Western Sydney Minister Stuart Ayres announced 800 parking spaces would be built at Emu Plains Station, while Riverstone MP Kevin Conolly committed to 700 spaces in a multi-storey development in Schofields. Hornsby state Liberal MP Matt Kean also announced a new commuter parking station at Hornsby through the transfer of a parcel of land owned by TAFE.
