SPARKLING SHOWCASE

The biggest night of the Mardi Gras Festival returns to shine a global spotlight on LGBTQI lives with spectacular floats, thousands of participants, a smorgasbord of colour and dynamic shape, and huge crowds of excited parade viewers lining the streets.

CHINESE FILM WEEK

The first ever Chinese Film Week is bringing free Chinese cinema to Event Cinemas George St. The event was created by the Sydney China Cultural Centre to help build a better understanding of Chinese culture through the art of cinema and to showcase some of the best creative minds in China. CHINA FUN DAY

The China Fun Lunar Carnival 2019 will be held this Saturday from 9:30am to 9pm at Burwood Park. It is the largest celebration event of the Year of the Pig in the inner west, featuring a big stage program with a range of traditional performances including dance, drama and musical talents. There will also be calligraphy and painting, paper cutting, lantern riddles, gourmet food stalls, kids rides and more.

CLEAN UP AUSTRALIA DAY

Clean Up Australia Day, on Sunday, has a lot of registered clean-up sites in the inner west including Rodd Park, Rhodes Foreshore Park, Prince Edward Park Cabarita, Cabarita Beach and Bayview Park, Concord, at 9am and Dobroyd Aquatic Centre and Sydney Olympic Park at 8am. Register to be a citizen scientist and learn how to capture local weather data in Auburn Park today as part of The Citizen Science Urban Microclimate Project, which will gather data to help plan urban and open spaces and predict future health and energy needs. EEL FESTIVAL RETURNS

The annual Eel Festival returns to Elizabeth Farm on Sunday. The free family friendly festival celebrates Parramatta’s namesake, the eel, and its significance to the local Darug people known as the Burramattagal who have gathered for thousands of years during eel season to feast, trade and share their culture.
