A multimillion-dollar housing project is set to reshape the face of a busy Double Bay street with a new six-storey apartment and retail precinct.
Developers for Primo Development Double Bay, and Sayed Holdings have unveiled plans to build a $12 million project within walking distance of the Double Bay Centre.
The plan includes demolition the existing buildings at 426-440 New South Head Road.
Planners for the project said it would be “part five- and part six-storey shop top housing development” with two levels of basement parking.
“The site comprises six allotments ... and is currently occupied by one commercial building and two shop-top housing developments,” the planner said.
The new building would have four retail spaces, 13 residential units, and 28 car parks.
“Residential apartments are located on the ground floor and all upper levels, above the retail tenancy level,” the planner said.
