A former dentist to the stars from Sydney’s eastern suburbs has had his dental registration cancelled following a string of complaints and criminal convictions including his performing surgery with his genitals exposed.

Dr Peter David Carr, 76, had his registration as a dentist officially cancelled this week by the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal.

Dr Carr previously provided dental services at Smile Care Dental in Double Bay from 2007 to 2017 where his patients included Sydney A-listers.

In 2018, Dr Carr was convicted of three offences against a female nurse, including common assault and two counts of aggravated indecent assault.

Those offences included his pushing the nurse against a wall before trying to kiss her and slapping her backside.

Last year, the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal also found him guilty of unsatisfactory professional conduct related to complaints dating back to 2016, including his performing dental surgery while his genitals were exposed “namely his semi erect penis and testicles”.

A nurse saw his genitals “hanging out of his jeans zipper” underneath his scrubs and made a complaint.

The tribunal also found him guilty of inappropriately using the hypnotic agent Triazolam in 2016.

Dr Carr has previously been suspended from practising but had his registration officially cancelled this week.

“The tribunal cancelled Dr Carr’s registration as a dentist and ordered that Dr Carr not be able to review that order for a period of one year from the date of the decision,” a Health Care Complaints Commission statement read.
