NAPLAN Eastern suburbs Sydney city: High school results revealed

Brains have beaten bucks with the selective public Sydney Girls and Boys High Schools out scoring the cream of private eastern suburbs and inner city secondary schools in NAPLAN. SEE HOW YOUR SCHOOL PERFORMED.

Brains have beaten bucks with the selective public Sydney Girls and Boys High Schools out scoring the cream of private eastern suburbs and inner city secondary schools in NAPLAN.

Recently released data from the 2019 NAPLAN tests shows together with Sydney Grammar School, the Moore Park public high schools took out the top three rankings in the area in almost every category in which year seven and nine students were assessed.

The CBD’s Conservatorium High School was the only other institution to make a handful of appearances in the top three, coming third in year seven and year nine spelling.

Schools from the area performed admirably with almost all ranking well above the state and national averages in the assessable areas of reading, writing, spelling, grammar and numeracy.

The only exceptions were St Clare’s College Waverley and Dover Height’s Kesser Torah College which both scored a 594 for year nine numeracy which was still above the Australian average of 592.1 but below the NSW mean of 596.5.

By comparison in the same category, Sydney Boys achieved a 744, Sydney Girls a 742 and the prestigious Darlinghurst Sydney Grammar School a 734.

Annual fees for a high school boy at Sydney Grammar are $38,043 in 2020.

SCEGGS Darlinghurst also performed admirably coming 5th for year seven reading, writing and spelling and as well as year nine spelling and fourth for year 9 reading and writing.

A year at SCEGGGS costs $36,620 for year seven and $37,000 for year nine.
