Now Bondi’s Simone Holtznagel will be adding another skill to her extensive portfolio – VIP Everest Race Day guest at Royal Randwick this weekend.
“I’m so happy that the world, and Sydney, is open again post-Covid,” the frequent racegoer says.
“It’ll be great to be back out on track, seeing all the wonderful fashions and entertainment come to life again … I hope I can back a winner.”
The $15m TAB Everest is unquestionably racing’s coolest event, with thousands set to flock to Royal Randwick this weekend to strut and pick a winner.
Everest Day, featuring the world’s richest race on turf, will be overflowing with exciting new activations and entertainment.
The $46m Winx Stand will be open for all guests – and it’s free. The two-storey venue boasts eateries, rooftop bars and panoramic views.
On Everest Day, it will be transformed into ‘Club Cuba’, bringing the energy of Havana with mojitos, fedoras and salsa dancers.
Meanwhile, the Glam House, a stylish new precinct on all carnival days at Royal Randwick, will help racegoers look and feel their best with hair and makeup touch-ups, live music, express massages, fashion illustrations and a perfume parlour.
Minister for Tourism Ben Franklin says: “Our summer of events will grow the NSW visitor economy, create jobs and secure a brighter future for our state.”
For a more luxurious affair, head to The Botanic, presented by Chandon Garden Spritz. The garden party atmosphere includes delicious food and a private bar. Tickets from $750.
Carnivale by White Claw is the place to be, so soak up the atmosphere of Sydney’s biggest race day.
Indulge in seltzers, sunshine, samba beats, DJs, food trucks and roving entertainment. There’s a big screen to catch all the racing action. Tickets from $99.
Fashion stylist Donny Galella says this season’s brights run from pinks to sparkling metallics.
“At The Everest, don’t forget to wear a dash of blue. For Golden Eagle, you’ll need a dash of gold,” he says.

For the ladies: Always wear a hat or headpiece, ideally made from straw or sinamay. Other trending hat styles are berets and oversized boater hats.
And for men: Pastel suits in sorbet tones like pink, blue, mint and lavender are trending. Double-breasted styles and check suits are still in vogue.
