A Bondi influencer and cafe owner who allegedly assaulted and intimidated a woman has been released from house arrest.

Owner of Nutrition Station Healthy Cafe in Bondi and “fitspo” influencer Lucas Azzopardi, 30, was granted changes to his strict bail conditions at Waverley Local Court on Thursday.

Azzopardi originally faced Parramatta Bail Court on Sunday after he handed himself into police, where he was charged with assault causing actual bodily harm and intimidation against Stephanie Teat.

No pleas have been entered for the charges which allegedly occurred in March and April, while an apprehended violence order has now been taken out by police on behalf of Ms Teat.

Azzopardi’s barrister Jehane Ghabrial told the court there were questions surrounding the woman’s claims about her client, “in respect to her credibility”.

Ms Ghabrial said there were “a number of videos showing that she has stalked … harassed him”.

She had previously told the bail court on Sunday that Ms Teat allegedly called Azzopardi more than 10,000 times, including 500 times in one day and allegedly used a spare key to “break in” to his apartment.

On Thursday, Magistrate Jacqueline Milledge granted the new bail conditions that released Azzopardi from home detention, under the conditions he lives at his Bondi Junction home and does not enter the suburb of Botany.

Magistrate Milledge removed daily reporting, ordering the Bondi man to report to Waverley police station weekly.

Other conditions include that he does not contact Ms Teat or any prosecution witness except through a legal representative and comply with the AVO.

It was revealed the matter could not be heard until April next year, due to delays that have hampered court’s ability to finalise cases since reopening after Covid.

The matter will return to court April 17, 2024.

The Bondi man currently has 13,700 followers on Instagram where he posts gym pics and promotes an aspirational life in Sydney’s exclusive eastern suburbs.

Azzopardi, accompanied by an older blonde woman and Ms Ghabrial, refused to answer questions outside court, where he lingered for almost an hour in discussion with his legal representative.

Ms Teat has not been charged in relation to claims Azzopardi has made against her.
