A glamorous bodybuilder has learned her punishment for selling drugs in Sydney’s eastern suburbs after being caught with 16 bags of coke.

Kimberley Sarah Devine, 28, is a champion bodybuilder who runs her own personal training business The Fit Project, where she goes by the nickname Coach Kimmi.

She was arrested on February 21 when police pulled her over in Double Bay driving a Hyundai Tucson and found 16 bags of cocaine and more than $6000 hidden inside her vehicle.

A court heard on Wednesday that Devine turned to selling coke to support her own cocaine habit.

The Sans Souci resident fronted Waverley Local Court on Wednesday and was sentenced for two counts of supply a prohibited drug and one count of deal with proceeds of crime which she pleaded guilty to.

The agreed facts stated police were patrolling Double Bay and saw a man get into her vehicle about 11pm that night on Court Rd, before Devine drove a short distance and dropped him off.

Police became suspicious and stopped both Devine and the man on nearby streets.

The man told police he had bought a bag of cocaine from Devine for $250 – the same amount of cash police found in Devine’s centre console.

Police searched Devine’s vehicle and found a hidden compartment behind the air conditioning unit where $6300 was stashed alongside 16 small bags of cocaine. The cocaine weighed 12.2g.

Devine’s lawyer told the court her client was very remorseful and the former bartender began taking illegal drugs after her ex-partner got her onto them.

Magistrate Ross Hudson accepted she was motivated by wanting to support her own drug habit rather than greed.

“In the eastern suburbs and in many other places in this state the supply of drugs is an absolute blight on our communities,” he said.

“What is does is fund an illegal market and adds to people’s complications to their mental health. It has no benefits. It is abhorrent.”

He convicted her on all three charges, fined her $1000, ordered she complete 150 hours community service work, and sentenced her to a community correction order for two years with supervision.

She must also continue counselling and abstain from drugs for 12 months.
