A Phillip Bay hairdresser cut open the flyscreens of her ex-boyfriend’s bedroom window and crawled into bed with him.

Paris Coudounellis faced Waverley Local Court on Monday from custody via video link where she pleaded guilty to breaching an apprehended violence order which protected her ex-boyfriend Luke Paterson.

The 20-year-old’s previous domestic violence charges, also relating to Paterson, were also called up in court after she had pleaded guilty to common assault and three counts of destroying or damaging property.

Court documents state Coudounellis and Paterson had been in an on and off relationship for two years, during which a series of incidents had occurred.

In June last year, Coudounellis cut through and broke off Paterson’s bedroom window fly screens at Kensington before she tucked herself into his bed during the night.

On another occasion, Paterson found Coudounellis crying in his car after he had finished a shift at work.

He offered her a lift home, which she accepted, before she “confronted” him about seeing another girl during the trip.

Coudounellis assaulted Paterson and kicked the inside of the car, wrecking the airconditioning vents, indicator levers and cruise control.

The damages to the car and window fly screens cost $1400 to fix.

An AVO was placed on Coudounellis in August for Paterson’s protection which included a no-contact condition.

Documents state on Sunday, Coudounellis celebrated her birthday at The Juniors Kingsford and had several alcoholic beverages before returning to her Phillip Bay home.

Paterson knocked on Coudounellis’ bedroom window about 2.30am and she allowed him to climb through her window.

He allegedly choked her during his visit, police documents continue.

Coudounellis reported the alleged assault to Maroubra Police Station where police checks revealed she had breached the AVO, which led to her arrest.

Police facts state Coudounellis told officers she should be granted bail because she was intoxicated when she offended and did not know she would be arrested if she was reporting an alleged domestic violence assault.

During her appearance in court, Coudounellis’ lawyer Mohamed Bejjaoui said the night of the AVO breach, Paterson went to his clients home to wish her a happy birthday and then allegedly assaulted her.

Mr Bejjaoui said Coudounellis worked as a boutique hairdresser and had strong community ties and no criminal history.

Magistrate George Zdenkowski granted Coudounellis conditional bail and adjourned her case for sentence on May 7.

Paterson was charged on Monday with assault causing actual bodily harm.

He has not entered a plea and will front court on April 3.
