Estelita Huijer sentenced for AVO breach, reveals pregnancy

Silverchair rocker Daniel Johns’ model ex has revealed she is seven months pregnant with a feted Sydney restaurateur as she was sentenced for breaching a court order imposed for his safety.

A Sydney socialite who previously dated Silverchair rocker Daniel Johns has revealed she is pregnant to a feted hospitality entrepreneur as she was sentenced for breaching a court order for his protection.

Estelita Huijer pleaded guilty to breaching an apprehended domestic violence order for restaurateur Andrew Becher’s protection for the second time at Downing Centre Local Court on Wednesday, for which she was previously sentenced to a conditional release order.

In a shock twist, the court heard Huijer – who has been previously restrained from having any contact whatsoever with Mr Becher – is seven months’ pregnant with his child.

Mr Becher did not attend a planned local court hearing to give evidence and a number of other domestic violence charges against Huijer were subsequently dropped.

She had previously been accused of stealing thousands of dollars’ cash from him and scribbling on a bookshelf at his residence with a permanent marker.

Huijer’s solicitor told the court the second ADVO breach occurred when she attended Mr Becher’s home with his consent, and that she was charged only when she contacted police to report herself for doing so.

The court heard Huijer would benefit from structured support as she had ‘limited familial and social support” and had been navigating an “often unsafe dynamic” in the relationship.

Magistrate Scott Nash convicted Huijer and sentenced her to a 12-month conditional release order and imposed a renewed apprehended domestic violence order with a sole mandatory condition that Huijer is not to stalk, threaten, harass, intimidate or assault Mr Becher, or anyone he has a domestic relationship with.

She is also not to damage any of his property or harm any animal that belongs to him.

A second contravention charge, along with charges of common assault, property damage, entering a premises, intentionally marking property and stealing were formally withdrawn.

Huijer has been broadcasting her pregnancy in recent weeks on Instagram – albeit without any reference to the father.

The one-time fashion designer dated Daniel Johns between 2012 and 2016, and a defunct website for her self-titled brand describes her as a “visionary artisan” with a “deep passion for crafting”.

Mr Becher, meanwhile, is the mind behind popular venues Franca, Parlar and Armorica, and more recently a planned revival of former celebrity hotspot Pelicano in Kings Cross.
