Strickland House, Vaucluse
Part of Sydney Harbour National Park owned and run by the NSW Government, Strickland Estate near Vaucluse offers up eight locations for use for weddings.
Overlooking the sparkling waters of Milk Beach, 19th century Strickland Estate can be rented for weddings, with couples required to bring all wedding items, including bridal arches, columns, tables and floral arrangements.
However because the venue is located on National Park land, flower arrangements cannot contain seeds to protect the local habitat, and photographers and videographers require a small-scale photography licence to bring equipment onto the grounds.
Similarly, there are strict rules around the use of lighting and PA systems on the grounds.
For those willing to navigate some restrictions, Strickland Estate offers some of the most spectacular views onto Sydney Harbour.
Dunbar House, Watsons Bay
A historic waterfront 1830s mansion, Dunbar House is located on the doorstep of Watsons Bay with panoramic views of the harbour.
With capacity for 100 guests, the heritage space offers an unparalleled setting for wedding receptions, with in-house catering, landscaped ceremony space and multiple spaces including a vast dining room, wrap around balcony, and second-floor bar.
The Blue Room, North Bondi
While currently closed for renovations, The Blue Room at North Bondi is the closest you could possibly get to getting married on Australia’s most famous beach.
Boasting breathtaking views of Bondi Beach, the venue offers its courtyard for ceremonies, with a reception space looking out onto the beach.
Alternatively couples can choose a beachside ceremony before moving to the venue at Bondi Surf Bathers Life Saving Club for a reception.
