Defeated Liberal candidate Dave Sharma has exchanged contracts on a property in Paddington, the Wentworth Courier understands.
The former ambassador, who lost out in the Wentworth by-election to Kerryn Phelps, is understood to have exchanged contracts this week on the home in Regent Street.
Mr Sharma, who is married with three daughters, has rented in Turramurra since the ex-ambassador returned from Israel.
During the by-election he rented a unit in Bellevue Hill.
Speaking earlier this month, he said: “We immersed ourselves quite deeply in the eastern suburbs and made lots of new friends so regardless we’re moving in. You don’t have to have your arm twisted to move somewhere like the eastern suburbs.”
He had said the family had been looking at homes in Woollahra, Bellevue Hill and Paddington.
He is yet to say if he will run again despite reports that he has the backing of the Liberal Party
