Police lay charges following drug raids in Young
Detectives have seized $12,000 worth of drugs and thousands in cash in targeted raids across the state’s south, with six people facing charges.

A police operation targeting drug dealing in Young and Cootamundra has led to charges being laid against six people following the discovery of $12,000 worth of drugs.
Monaro and Wagga Wagga Region Enforcement Squads officers established Strike Force Elsimer in May 2023 to investigate the supply of drugs in the Young area.
With the assistance of Hume police and the Southern Region Domestic Violence High-Risk Offenders Team, investigators raided three homes in Young on Thursday.
During the search of the properties, officers allegedly found 279g of marijuana, three marijuana plants, 1g of cocaine, 178 MDMA capsules, steroids and $5213 in cash.
The seized drugs have an estimated potential street value of $12,000.
Two men, aged 22 and 23, and two women, aged 33 and 45, were arrested and were taken to Young police station.
Both women were charged with supply prohibited drug on an ongoing basis, six counts of supply prohibited drug, and possess prohibited drug.
The 22-year-old man was charged with two counts of supply prohibited drugs, good in custody suspected of being stolen, deal with proceeds of crime, and possess prohibited drug.
The 23-year-old man was charged with supply prohibited drugs.
All four were granted strict conditional bail and were due to appear at Young Local Court on September 6.
Strike force investigators then conducted a high-visibility operation at pubs across the Young, Harden, and Cootamundra areas on Friday.
During the operation a 46-year-old woman and a 45-year-old man were charged with possessing prohibited drugs after being allegedly found with MDMA and marijuana at hotels in Cootamundra and Young respectively.
The 46-year-old woman will appear at Cootamundra Local Court on August 21 while the 45-year-old man will appear at Young Local Court on August 9.
Investigations are Strike Force Elsimer are ongoing.
