They could be crooks, they could be victims, but either way Google reviewers bring some light-hearted humour with their cheeky comments.
From ‘The Worst Airbnb Ever’ and ‘Capital Shame’ to ‘I may stay again’, these are the most hilarious NSW and ACT Police station reviews posted on Google.
Yass
It’s known for its iconic fast food pit stop which allows hungry travellers to feast on their journey from Sydney to the Riverina, but some people have actually travelled into the town, and spent some time at the local police station.
Jacob McGregor left a four-star review with a smiley face emoticon, saying, “It‘s a pretty bog standard police station but at least the coppers who work here are friendly enough.”
Three-star reviewer Michael Sourjah wrote a review on the look of the station.
“This 1879 building was originally part of a prison which was at the rear,” he wrote.
“Two tall pine trees are at the front of the building. I didn’t want to go inside because I had consumed a number of beers at the Australian Hotel and might have been arrested.”
Deniliquin
Deniliquin was once dubbed the ‘safest town in NSW’, and Michael Bavich left a five-star rating with a very blunt reason as to why, the police saved his life.
“The police helped me when I was being stabbed to death, if it wasn’t for them, I would have died,” he wrote.
On the other hand, Gary Mexted left a one-star rating with the comment, “Highway patrol. Judgment made by the number of stars above.”
Wagga Wagga
Wagga is known as ‘the city of sports’ and famed for its sportsmen, farmland but apparently not its hotels, or should we say cells.
Alf Mendes left a one-star review rating of the local cop shop, as the, “Worst Airbnb Ever!.”
“The bed, bath and dining room are all in the same room, it’s not like the pictures at all.”
Another reviewer left a 1-star review after police wouldn’t assist with a dead bird in his backyard.
“Very disappointed with the response I got after reporting a bird shot in my yard, I live on a corner block so could have been only one of two neighbours, the police did nothing.”
However it‘s not all bad for Wagga’s reviews, one reviewer left a five-star review thanking the police for their assistance.
Tamara Dixon left a five-star review for the station.
“I called the non-emergency line about a crime, they were prompt and quickly helped me to contact the relevant people to make a report.”
Canberra
Canberra City Police Station received a mixed bag of reviews, while some ‘enjoyed their stay’ others compared their customer service to teenagers at Maccas.
A reviewer who went by the name of Bonny Pop left a one- star stating, “This is where the baddies are.”
One-star reviewer, Leonardo Sadettan said, “I get better customer service from teenagers working in Maccas. If you are paid to serve the public then at least sound you care on the freakin’ phone!!!”
One reviewer was less than impressed with the police station, calling it the ‘capital’s shame’ and leaving a one-star rated review because ‘I can’t select zero stars.’
“It’s the capital’s shame!” the reviewer wrote.
A reviewer by the name of CK left a one-star review saying he ‘may stay again next St Patrick’s Day’.
“When I complained to the manager all they were willing to offer was another night’s free accommodation, needless to say, I was not interested,” CK wrote.
