Tributes are flowing for a loving uncle and truck driver from the state’s south, who will be remembered as a “truly wonderful man with a heart of gold”.
North Albury man Marc Rowan was aged just 37 when his life was cut short in a fatal crash earlier this month.
Emergency services were called to Fallon Street, North Albury, following reports a vehicle had rolled on the evening of May 3.
Mr Rowan, the sole occupant, died at the scene with investigations underway into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
His loss leaves his shattered family struggling to come to terms with the unexpected tragedy, as they desperately await answers.
Mother Jacquelyne Rowan said her son was somebody who “would always step up, he was always there”.
“Nothing changed over the years, he would always put others first. If you need anything Marc would be the first person to step up,” Ms Rowan said
“He drove trucks for many years, he loved the open road. He was well mannered and praised for his work ethics and politeness.
“When he put his mind to something, he would make sure it was done.”
Ms Rowan also said police were searching for a car they believe left the scene of the accident.
A fundraiser organised for Mr Rowan’s funeral described him as “a truly wonderful man with a heart of gold”.
“Marc was one of those rare souls who made the world brighter just by being in it, he had a gentle strength, always ready to lend a hand, share a laugh, or offer quiet support when it was needed most,” the fundraiser said
“His kindness, generosity, and unwavering loyalty touched so many lives, and his loss is deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him.”
Similar sentiments flooded social media, with loved ones remembering him as a “legend of a bloke,” “wonderful person”, “great work mate”, “beautiful soul” and “awesome man”.
