Drug bust at vehicle stop in Yerong Creek leads to three arrests

Three men have been arrested after a drug bust at a vehicle stop uncovered cocaine and ice as a strike force cracks down on drug supply in the Riverina.
Detectives from Riverina Police District established Strike Force Morag in March 2022 to investigate the supply of drugs, predominantly methylamphetamine, in the Wagga region.
Following inquiries, strike force investigators arrested two men – aged 37 and 45 – during a vehicle stop at Yerong Creek about 11pm on Thursday.
Police searched the vehicle where they located and seized quantities of cocaine and methamphetamine. These items will undergo forensic examination.
The younger man was charged with supplying a commercial quantity of a prohibited drug, seven counts of supplying an indictable quantity of a prohibited drug, five counts of supplying a prohibited drug, supplying cannabis, and knowingly or recklessly directing a criminal group to assist crime.
He was refused bail and appeared in Wagga Local Court on Friday where he was refused bail to appear in the same court on June 29.
The older man was charged with five counts of supplying an indictable quantity of prohibited drug and possessing a prohibited drug.
He was refused bail and appeared in Wagga Local Court on Friday where he was granted conditional bail to appear in the same court on July 13.
Following further inquiries, a 31-year-old man was arrested at a home in Marrar about 9.50am on Monday 9 May 2022.
He was taken to Wagga Police Station, where he was charged with four counts of taking part in supplying a prohibited drug.
The man was refused bail to appear at Wagga Local Court on Wednesday. Investigations under the strike force continue.
