A string of deadly crashes across Sydney has claimed the lives of two people in a horror night on Sydney roads. Another man has died after succumbing to injuries in a crash as the state’s road toll soars.

A string of deadly crashes across NSW have claimed the lives of three people, bringing the current state road toll to 301, surpassing last year’s 290, as the Christmas-New Year period approaches.

A woman believed to be in her 70s died after being hit by a ute while walking in Dural on Monday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to Old Northern Rd about 4.30pm on November 18, and found the woman had suffered critical injuries after being struck by a 28-year-old male driver from Zetland.

The man stopped to help assist but the woman died at the scene.

Officers established a crime scene and arrested the 28-year-old before taking him to Hornsby Hospital for mandatory testing and he was later charged with negligent driving occasioning death.

He has been granted conditional bail and to appear in Hornsby Local Court on December 19.

In a separate incident, A man, aged 19, died in a two vehicle crash in Wilberforce.

Emergency services were called to Wilberforce Rd, about 4.45am on Tuesday following reports of a two-vehicle crash.

Officers found a truck with a dog and a hatchback had collided, with the driver of the hatchback – the 19-year-old – found deceased at the scene.

He is yet to be formally identified.

The male truck driver, who’s age is unknown, was uninjured and was taken to Nepean Hospital for mandatory testing.

Police have established a crime scene and commenced investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Road closures are in place along Wilberforce Rd, from the roundabout at Freemans Reach Rd and Rose Street.

In Sydney’s northwest, a man has also died after being critically injured in a single-vehicle crash at Kenthurst last week.

Emergency services had been called to Kenthurst Rd at about 10.30pm on November 15, after a blue Ford XR6 Falcon sedan left the roadway and hit a power pole.

The 18-year-old driver suffered multiple injuries and was taken to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition, with the front-seat passenger, a 19-year-old man, suffering a head injury and the back-seat passenger, also aged 18, escaped with minor injuries.

Police have now been advised the driver died yesterday in hospital.

The older man remains in hospital in a stable condition, while the third man was released.
