Hundreds of thousands of dollars may soon be pumped into the Wagga economy with plans for a new warehouse revealed.

A proposal for an $800,000 warehouse and shop front for the Southland Supply Group has been lodged with Wagga Council.

The supply company has been stocking the Wagga region with work uniforms, personal protective equipment and footwear for a number of decades.

The site, at 40 Nagle St, is just 20 doors down from the group’s current store.

Company director Tim Pridham said he hoped council would see the value in the new development.

“We are expanding due to demand and outgrowing our old premises,” Mr Pridham said.

“We currently have around 10 employees working at the Wagga store and we are hoping our team will grow if this new warehouse is approved.

The development application reveals plans for a 20.5 metre by 50.5 metre warehouse to be built on the vacant block of land.

The facility if approved, would include a range of offices, meeting rooms, storage areas, trade space, staff lunch room, first aid station and toilets.

A total of 14 parking spaces would also accompany the new space.

Mr Pridham said if approved, the warehouse was expected to be complete late next year.

The development was submitted by Iris Planning on behalf of Mr Pridham.

Southland Supply Group has stores in Canberra and Sydney.
