Three Wagga residents have fronted court charged with multiple offences after a Riverina police strike force brought down an alleged drug ring across the region.
Nathan Jack Job, 20, Hayden Benjamin Stirling, 24, and Courtney Hinneberg, 22, appeared via video link in Wagga Local Court today.
Their appearances came after police yesterday pounced on homes in Kooringal, North Wagga and Mount Austin where they seized MDMA, amphetamines, cocaine, more than $10,000 and two cars.
All three were charged with knowingly take part in the supply of prohibited drug, supply prohibited drug and participate in criminal group.
Job was also charged with dealing with the proceeds of crime, knowingly direct activities of a criminal group and possess prohibited weapon.
Stirling today pleaded not guilty to all his charges, while Job and Hinneberg have not yet entered a plea.
Police allege Job was the ringleader of the operation who ordered members of the syndicate to supply the drugs on his behalf.
They also allege he was storing large amounts of drugs and cash.
Today the court heard that Stirling was on an intensive corrections order at the time of his alleged offences.
All accused were remanded in custody and are scheduled to front court again on March 25.
Their matters will be referred to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
A fourth person - a 20-year-old woman - was arrested in North Wagga and taken to Wagga Police Station where she was charged with knowingly take part in the supply of prohibited drug, four counts of supply prohibited drug, supply prohibited drug on an ongoing basis and participate in criminal group.
She was granted bail and scheduled to appear in Wagga Local Court on April 8.
The arrests of the four accused came as part of a police clampdown on drug supply in the Riverina.
Southern Region Operations Manager Detective Superintendent Kevin McNeil said: “We will continue to target those engaging in the supply of illegal drugs, and rest assured anyone who engages in these activities will face the full brunt of the law.”
