A woman has been stabbed while trying to stop an alleged domestic brawl on the NSW south coast, with the man accused applying for bail in court.

The stabbing allegedly occurred on Park Drive.

A woman has been stabbed while trying to stop an alleged brawl inside a NSW south coast home.

Emergency services were called to a home on Park Dr, Sanctuary Point on Tuesday at 7.55pm, following reports a domestic dispute was occurring inside.

Police officers attended, finding a 25-year-old woman had been stabbed, suffering multiple wounds.

The officers were told the woman was injured while attempting to separate two men who were involved in a scuffle at the house.

The woman was treated at the scene before being taken to Shoalhaven Hospital in a stable condition.

A man will face Nowra Local Court today in relation to the alleged stabbing.

Nearby neighbours took to social media, with one mentioning they saw a helicopter landing at the scene.

Another said they heard yelling in the house before emergency services arrived.

A crime scene was established and police commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Stephen Shelley, 31, allegedly left the scene prior to the arrival of police and was arrested a short time later on Allison Pde, Nowra, following an alleged pursuit.

He was taken to Nowra Police Station where he was charged with contravene prohibition or restriction in an AVO (domestic), aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offences – armed, police pursuit and breach bail.

Shelley appeared in the Nowra Local Court on Wednesday, where a bail application was refused by Magistrate Gabriel Flemming.

He will remain in custody, with his case returning to court on January 29.
