A NSW south coast police officer accused of assaulting four women has denied the allegations in court.
Southern Region senior constable Brett Lindsay was originally charged with two counts of common assault, after allegedly assaulting two women in a Batemans Bay shopping mall.
The 37-year-old police officer appeared in the Batemans Bay Local Court on Monday, where it was revealed he was facing two further assault charges.
Lindsay’s lawyer, Adam Sumbak, entered not guilty pleas to the four common assault charges.
Documents tendered to the court allege Lindsay assaulted four women on October 29, 2023, between 3pm and 4pm at the mall.
The women were arrested following the alleged incident, but were later released.
A NSW Police spokeswoman previously said none of the women were charged.
Lindsay was arrested following investigations and charged. He is currently suspended with pay.
Magistrate Doug Dick adjourned Lindsay’s case to January 13 to set a hearing date.
