A south coast man has denied murdering 49-year-old Edward Carter almost two years after his tragic stabbing death.
Warren Anthony Scott, 37, from Bega pleaded not guilty to murder in the NSW Supreme Court on February 12, almost two years after his arrest.
Prosecutors allege Scott murdered Mr Carter, who was known to him, during an altercation at an Eden home on Moorhead St at 3.30pm on April 4, 2019.
Police allege Scott was armed with a knife when they arrived on the scene, and as inquiries continued and officers entered the home, they allege they found Mr Carter badly wounded.
Despite the efforts of NSW Ambulance paramedics, Mr Carter died at the scene from his injuries.
Scott, who has been in custody since his arrest on the day of the incident, will now face trial in the NSW Supreme Court on August 23.
Justice Robert Hulme has estimated the trial will last 10 days.
