An alleged senior-ranking member of the Brutal South chapter of the Hells Angels has faced court after being arrested during police raids on the south coast last month.
Steven Mark Balshaw, 46, from Mollymook pleaded not guilty in Milton Local Court on February 11 to habitually consorting with convicted offenders after a warning and being in possession of goods suspected of being stolen.
He is yet to enter a plea to two counts of possessing a prohibited drug.
Balshaw is alleged to be the Sergeant at Arms of the Brutal South chapter of the Hells Angels, and was arrested at his home after police carried out early morning raids at Nowra, Sanctuary Point and Mollymook on January 20.
At the time of his arrest police said Balshaw was charged as part of an ongoing investigation into Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs in the Bay and Basin area.
Magistrate Lisa Viney continued Balshaw’s bail, which includes reporting to Ulladulla Police Station Daily and not approaching, contacting or associating with anyone known by the defendant to be a member, nominee, or prospect of the gang.
Balshaw is also prohibited from attending or approaching any home of any member, associate, nominee or prospect of any Outlaw Motorcycle Gang, or any location known to be frequented by any member, nominee or prospect of any Outlaw Motorcycle Gang.
He will face Milton Local Court on March 25.
