Skye Rixon and Jodie Pike sentenced after taser, pepper spray found at home

A ‘wannabe bikie’ who once tried to launch his own outlaw gang and offered 50 pistols to all new members – has fronted court after a taser and pepper spray was found at his home.

A ‘wannabe bikie’ who once tried to launch his own outlaw gang and offered 50 pistols to all new members – has fronted court after a taser and pepper spray was discovered in his and his partner’s home.

Skye Rixon, 37 and his partner, Jodie Pike, 30 from Surfside, faced Batemans Bay Local Court on Monday and pleaded guilty to use prohibited weapon contrary to prohibition order and possess a prohibited weapon without permit respectively.

The court heard how Rixon was slapped with weapon prohibition orders, which stop him from owning or possessing any weapon, when he unsuccessfully attempted to start an outlaw motorcycle gang in 2020.

Magistrate Michael O’Brien heard how he attempted to lure potential members to his proposed gang, by offering to supply them with “50 pistols”.

“There was no way in the world he was ever going to be able to supply 50 pistols to these people,” Rixon’s lawyer Geoff Knox told the court.

Rixon was convicted and sentenced to 12 months jail in August 2020 on two charges of supplying firearms in connection to his ill-fated attempted bikie gang.

Police documents tendered to the court on Monday reveal Rixon broke the order issued on April 21 after a pepper spray and a taser was found hidden in their house during a random weapon check.

Agreed facts state the officers located the pepper spray in a storage container and the taser in the main bedroom.

Rixon told police the taser belonged to his partner Pike, whom he started seeing after his failed attempt at starting an outlaw gang. She, however, denied knowing where the pepper spray came from.

Pike later revealed to officers the spray was a gift to the couple, which she had “forgotten about”.

Mr O’Brien said the couple should have known better.

“You’ve already felt the sting of full-time imprisonment,” he said to Rixon.

When sentencing the pair, Mr O’Brien said he wanted Rixon to become a “better person” and think before making any “decisions you would regret”.

Rixon was convicted and sentenced to a 12-month community corrections order.

Meanwhile, given Pike’s lack of any conviction, Mr O’Brien sentenced her to another 12-month community release order.
