Tuross Head: Elderly cyclist dies after crashing into parked car

An elderly cyclist has died after crashing into a parked car on the state’s South Coast. Here’s the latest.

An elderly man on the state’s South Coast has died after slamming into a parked car, police say.

Emergency services were called to Hector William Dr, Tuross Head – about 45km south of Batemans Bay – at 1.50pm on Wednesday, following the discovery of a cyclist unresponsive on the roadway.

Paramedics attempted to revive to the man, aged in his 80s, but he died at the scene.

A NSW Police spokesman said initial investigations suggest the man crashed his bicycle into a parked car.

Police have established a crime scene and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

The cyclist is yet to be formally identified.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
