Troy Kowalczyk: David O’Hehir charged over head-on crash on Princes Highway
The western Sydney truck driver who was involved in a head-on collision which killed south coast father-of-four Troy Kowalczyk has fronted court for the first time.

A truck driver from northwest Sydney, who was involved in a fatal head-on collision on the state’s south coast, has fronted court.
David O’Hehir appeared via telephone at his first appearance in Nowra Local Court on Tuesday, August 25.
The 53-year-old Schofields man was charged with dangerous driving occasioning death and negligent driving occasioning death.
In documents tendered to the court, police allege O’Hehir was driving a Western Star prime mover when it was involved in an crash occasioning the death of Troy Kowalczyk on the Princes Highway at Bewong about 3.30am on June 18.
Police allege O’Hehir was driving in a manner of dangerous to another person.
O’Hehir’s license remains suspended and the matter was adjourned to October 26 without plea.
Mr Kowalczyk, 36, lived in Wandandian with his wife and four children. A fundraiser for his family has raised $63,000.
