Tony‘s Pizza House and Gelateria voted best pizza on the south coast

After putting out a call for nominations for the south coast’s best pizza and counting the votes in our online poll, the winner can finally be revealed.
Readers of The South Coast News have voted for the best cafe in the region, with Tony's Pizza House and Gelateria in Ulladulla taking the gold.
Owner Pino Loccisano was born and raised in the Calabrian region of Italy, known for producing some of the best pizza in the world.
The 55-year-old was taught the Calabrian way at a local pizza shop before moving to Australia at the tender age of 23.
He said consistency is the key to making his pizza stand out from the rest on the south coast.
“Everything I use is fresh, and I make sure the pizza is 100 per cent what the customer wants before I give it to them,” he said.
“We keep it traditional, but we can also do thin or thick crust depending on what you want.”
He bought the business from his uncle, who ran it for 25 years, just five years ago, adding “a few” new flavours to the menu along the way.
He said the shop’s most popular flavours are its four seasons, with ham, prawns and mushrooms, and the Sardenia, with chicken, mushrooms and fetta cheese.
“What we do here is make what people want. Australians love lots of toppings,” he said.
“I just want to say thank you to everyone who voted for me.”
