A South Coast mother previously warned by a court to change her ways allegedly breached an intensive correction order mere moments after it was handed down by assaulting a law enforcement officer.

Stacey Ballantine, 35, allegedly assaulted a NSW Corrective Service officer on January 30, after pleading guilty and being sentenced for being armed with intent, common assault, resisting police, stalking, and contravening an apprehended violence order in Batemans Bay Local Court before Magistrate Robert Rabbidge.

For those earlier offences, the Batemans Bay mother was convicted and sentenced to a 12 month intensive correction order.

However, the order was allegedly broken by Ballantine just moments after it was handed down, when she allegedly assaulted a NSW Corrective Services officer.

Police will allege Ballantine also hindered and resisted multiple other NSW Corrective Service officers during the same incident.

Court documents state the alleged incident became so violent, one officer sustained a meniscus tear to his right knee.

The alleged offending followed Ballantine's sentencing about 3.30pm, and saw her hit with new charges of assaulting a law enforcement officer, assaulting an officer and inflicting actual bodily harm, and hindering or resisting law enforcement officers.

She was rearrested and refused bail.

Ballantine represented herself at Batemans Bay Local Court on Monday on the new charges, but is yet to enter pleas.

Magistrate Doug Dick adjourned the case for further mention on April 28.

The new charges also follow another conviction handed down in the same court on September 26, 2024, after Ballantine broke into the Batehaven Ampol Service Station with a crowbar, before assaulting responding police.

She later pleaded guilty to charges of armed with intent, destroy or damage property, assault police, and hinder or resist arrest.

While being sentenced on this offending, Mr Dick warned Ballantine to change her ways.

“Your children need a mum,” he said.
