A disgraced south coast realtor was caught driving with a suspended licence mere weeks before he was jailed for defrauding more than $300,000 from victims, a court has heard.
Slade Small, 32, from West Nowra faced Nowra Local Court on Tuesday, and pleaded guilty to driving a car with a suspended licence.
Documents tendered to the court indicated Small was apprehended driving suspended by police on January 3.
It is understood Small’s licence was suspended in respect of a high range drink-driving offence on December 19 last year.
Magistrate Lisa Viney fined Small $1000 for the new driving offence and disqualified him from holding a driver’s licence for six months.
The new offences surfaced after Small was convicted and sentenced to two years full-time custody with a non-parole period of 12 months.
Agreed facts stated Small’s victims included a mother and daughter first-homebuyers and a 93-year-old retiree selling her family home.
Small used the money he scammed from clients on food, fuel, gambling services and cryptocurrency.
