A man has died after being pulled from the surf at a south coast beach. Here is what we know.

A man has died after being pulled from the surf on the state’s south coast.

Emergency services were called to Seven Mile Beach, Shoalhaven Heads around 8.45am following reports a man was unresponsive in the water.

Members of the public commenced CPR before the arrival of paramedics however, he was unable to be revived.

The man is yet to be formally identified, but is believed to be aged in his 60s.

Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

A report is being prepared for the information of the Coroner.
