A police pursuit through the quiet, suburban streets of a south coast town on Sunday evening has left the driver with a long list of charges, including high-range speeding and resisting arrest.
Officers from the Nowra Highway Patrol detected the Proton-brand sedan allegedly travelling at 108km in a 50km area on Meroo Rd in a residential area of Bomaderry at around midnight on March 13.
Police began their pursuit of the vehicle through the usually quiet night-time streets when the driver, a 38-year-old Nowra man, failed to pull over for officers who signalled for him to do so.
The driver was arrested after the vehicle came to a stop on Alfred St in Bomaderry.
The man allegedly resisted arrest and was subjected to a roadside breath test, before later returning a positive result of 0.167 after being taken to Nowra Police Station.
The man has been charged with failing to stop, driving dangerously, exceeding the speed limit by more than 45km, driving with a high range PCA, and resisting arrest, and has had his license suspended.
The driver was granted a conditional bail to appear in Nowra Local Court on April 12.
