The 12-year-old boy was laying down next to his bike on McKay St, Nowra, when the ute ran over him and failed to stop about 6.30pm on Monday.

He was treated by paramedics at the scene, transported to Albion Park where he was flown to Sydney Children’s Hospital.

A hospital spokesman said the boy was in a stable condition and resting.

A South Coast Police District spokesman said the boy had suffered serious injuries, including fractures to the legs, pelvis and chest.
