A potent strike force under NSW Police’s Sex Crimes Squad have charged a middle-aged man with possessing child abuse material in the latest raid as part of their operations.
On Wednesday at about 7.15am, detectives under Strike Force Trawler raided a Kings Point home on the South Coast and arrested a 48-year-old man at the scene.
He was then taken to Ulladulla Police Station where he was charged with possession of child abuse material.
He was refused bail to appear before Nowra Local Court on Thursday.
In July last year, strike force detectives commenced an investigation into the man after a referral from the United Kingdom via the Australian Centre to Counter Child Exploitation (ACCCE).
Strike Force Trawler is an ongoing investigation by Sex Crimes Squad’s Child Exploitation Internet Unit (CEIU) into the sexual abuse and exploitation of children facilitated through the internet and related telecommunications devices.
