A Canberra man accused of exposing himself at a Batemans Bay shopping mall earlier this year will have to wait until next year to fight the charges after appearing at a South Coast court.

Dean Roach, 45, pleaded not guilty at Batemans Bay Local Court on August 29 to a raft of charges, including exposing himself in public and behaving in an offensive manner at the Citi Centre Arcade on July 27.

Police allege that Roach also carried out a sexual act in the company of a woman without consent on the same day, and had intentionally intimidated another woman in North Batemans Bay.

Roach, who resides in the ACT suburb of Holt, was apprehended by Queanbeyan Police on August 25.

He remains in custody at Parklea Correctional Facility.

Appearing at Batemans Bay Local Court on September 26, solicitor James McGuire told the court he was unable to attend a proposed hearing date in December, forcing the case to be pushed back to January 2023.

Mr McGuire said he would not be calling any witness, while police will be calling two.

Roach will attend the hearing via AVL on January 30.
