A south coast woman who appeared in court for a fourth time on drug matters has expressed her nonchalant attitude to her problem.

Renee Bailee, 32, from Culburra Beach, giggled, smiled and played with her hair and nails while representing herself in Nowra Local Court on two charges of drive vehicle with illicit drug in blood.

She pleaded guilty to both charges.

Bailee smiled while Magistrate Lisa Viney read through the agreed facts detailing her past offences.

“You’re not going too well with drugs are you?” Magistrate Viney said.

Agreed facts stated Bailee was pulled over for an RBT on Kinghorne Street, Nowra, where methamphetamine was detected in her system on September 9, 2022.

She was pulled over again on October 10, 2022, on the Princes Highway in Nowra, where once more, methamphetamine was detected in her system.

Magistrate Viney said it was “clear you have a problem with drugs.”

“Did you want to get help for your drug problem today, or would you rather finalise the matter?” Magistrate Viney asked.

“I guess let’s just finalise it today,” Bailee replied.

While Bailee had completed the traffic offenders program, Magistrate Viney recommended she do more about her issue with drugs.

“These matters are your fourth and fifth offences with drugs,” she said.

“If you don’t address this, you’re going to keep coming back before the court.”

Bailee nodded, before going back to playing with her nails.

“You’re kind of at a point where you need to help yourself,” Magistrate Viney said.

Despite the amount of times Bailee had committed the offence, she informed the court the traffic offenders program had been beneficial.

“I learnt how much one little mistake can affect people,” she said.

Bailee was sentenced and fined $750 for each charge, as well as a 12 month licence suspension. She was not convicted for the matters.
