A teenager accused of organising and participating in an illegal street race on a busy south coast highway has denied the allegations in court.
The alleged incident saw Connor Robson, 18, wind up in Nowra Local Court on Tuesday, pleading not guilty to charges of organise or promote race between vehicles and drive recklessly or furiously at speed.
Documents tendered to the court state the Worrigee teen allegedly organized and participated in the illegal street race on the evening of November 16 last year, with the race believed to have occured on the Princes Hwy through Nowra.
Police alleged the 18-year-old was involved in the race, driving a 2005 BMW E90 Sedan recklessly and furiously at speed.
Documents, nor the court, revealed the alleged speed Robson was driving.
Following multiple months of investigations by the South Coast Police District, Robson was arrested and charged on April 2 this year.
In Nowra Local Court on Tuesday, Robson’s lawyer Anthony Strong entered the pleas on his client’s behalf, before asking the court to adjourn the matter so a brief of evidence could be served.
The request was not opposed by Magistrate Lisa Viney, with a brief being needed before a hearing date could be set.
Ms Viney ordered the brief be served by June 4, with Robson’s matter returning to court on June 18.
