A NSW south coast man has admitted soliciting and sending himself child abuse material, all while on the state’s child protection register.

Cody Bloxsome, 26, recently pleaded guilty to five counts of using a carriage service to solicit child abuse material, two counts of failing to comply with reporting obligations, and one count of using a carriage service to transmit child abuse material to himself.

Documents tendered to the Nowra District Court reveal he is currently in custody at the Parklea Correctional Centre.

The documents state the Nowra man solicited and sent himself the child abuse material between January 2021 and February 2023, while on the NSW Child Protection Register for unrelated offences.

In court last week, Bloxsome’s lawyer, Evan Bongarzoni, said his client was ready for sentencing.

Cody Bloxsome’s matter was heard in the Nowra District Court.

However, Mr Bongarzoni said a psychiatric examination and report needed to be completed.

He asked the court to adjourn the matter to allow this, with Judge Jennifer English granting the request.

Bloxsome will return to court on October 7, where a sentencing date is set to be decided.
