Three men have been charged after allegedly tying an elderly woman to a chair for three hours during a horrifying break-in at a Far South Coast home on Monday, before fleeing with jewellery and electronics.

Police allege that the three men entered the property on Tathra-Bermagui Rd in Mogareeka near Tathra about 3.30am armed with knives and a baseball bat, while the 64-year-old resident was home alone.

Police allege that the trio tied the woman to the chair, demanding cash and ransacking the home.

Shortly after, the three men allegedly fled with jewellery and electronic goods.

The woman was not injured and was able to free herself, with neighbours contacting police about 6.30am.

On Thursday, officers from the South Coast Police District executed simultaneous searches of two homes and a caravan in Bega and the Far South Coast, arresting three men on a raft of robbery-related charges.

NSW Police arrested a 19-year-old man at a home on Howard Ave in Bega about 6pm on Thursday, before arresting a 42-year-old man shortly after at a caravan located at the Bega Showgrounds.

During their search of the vehicle, officers allegedly uncovered a replica handgun, more than 2.5kg of cannabis, electronic items, jewellery, and other items relevant to the investigation.

About the same time, police also arrested a 30-year-old man at a home on Herganhans Ln in Angledale.

All three men were taken to Bega Police Station where they were charged with aggravated break and enter, robbery while armed with offensive weapon, being armed with intent to commit indictable offence, detaining a person with intent to obtain advantage, and common assault.

The 19-year-old was also charged with possessing a prohibited drug, while the 42-year-old was also charged with resisting police, possessing an unauthorised pistol, and possessing a prohibited drug.

The trio were refused bail to appear in Bega Local Court on Friday.
