Wyee: Senior constable charged following investigation into a two-vehicle crash last month
A senior constable attached to Central Metropolitan Police has been charged with dangerous and negligent driving following a serious crash at Wyee last month which injured himself and two others.

An off-duty police officer has been charged following an investigation into a two-vehicle crash in the Lake Macquarie region last month, where three people were injured.
About 9.30am on July 18, emergency services were called to Wyee Rd, Wyee, after reports a Jeep and a Hyundai Santa Fe collided head-on.
The driver of the Jeep, a 37-year-old man, was trapped for an hour before being released.
The Hyundai driver, a 48-year-old woman, sustained serious leg and internal injuries, while her passenger, a 13-year-old boy, suffered a broken wrist.
They were all treated at the scene before being taken to John Hunter Hospital for treatment.
Following an investigation by the Crash Investigation Unit, the 37-year-old man, a senior constable attached to the Central Metropolitan police region was charged.
He’s facing charges of aggravated dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm; dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm-drive speed dangerous; dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm — drive manner dangerous; two counts of cause bodily harm by misconduct in charge of motor vehicle; two counts of negligent driving; drive recklessly/furiously or speed/manner dangerous and not keep left of dividing line.
He is due to appear at Toronto Local Court on October 6.
