Wanted man Daniel Fing has been arrested at Belmont post office, more than a week after he went on the run after police allegedly discovered guns and ammunition at his girlfriend’s house.
Fing, 35, had left his girlfriend’s Lambton home after detectives arrived to conduct a Firearms Prohibition Order (FPO) last week, according to police.
The alleged discovery of a shotgun under a bed, a crossbow and a replica M16 machine gun was enough for police to be granted an arrest warrant.
A second search at the Belmont North home of Fing’s parents also allegedly uncovered a shotgun hidden in a wall cavity.
There is no suggestion Fing’s father, Trevor, or his mother are involved in the possession of the shotgun.
Police arrested Daniel Fing at Belmont post office on Friday morning. No charges have been laid. He will be interviewed by detectives.
