A corrective services officer charged over an alleged romantic relationship with a former inmate at a correctional centre in the Hunter region will enter a plea on her next court appearance.
Vicki Ellen Greenhalgh, 52, didn’t appear at Muswellbrook Local Court on Monday but will come back in November.
Police allege Ms Greenhalgh, who is a service and programs officer, had a romantic relationship with 56-year-old Robert Parry, while serving time at St Heliers Corrective Centre in Muswellbrook.
Staff at the males-only minimum security facility on the outskirts of Muswellbrook referred the alleged relationship to police, prompting the establishment of Strike Force Canopus.
Following extensive inquiries, she was arrested at a home in Muswellbrook last month and charged with engage in a relationship with inmate cause safety risk and engage in sexual conduct compromise sentence.
Ms Greenhalgh was granted strict conditional bail and will appear at Muswellbrook Local Court on November 2.
Her employment has been suspended.
