Newcastle netballer Sam Poolman says the Super Netball win of the Swifts has made her more motivated than ever to help the Giants replicate the feat in 2020.
Poolman today re-signed with the Giants for a fourth and fifth season of Super Netball with the club retaining all but one of its players from the 2019 Super Netball competition following the retirement of veteran Kim Green.
Poolman is a regular member of the starting seven and also one of the clubs most experienced players with 73 caps in the domestic competition to her name.

Also signing on are Kristiana Manu’a and Amy Parmenter, Kiera Austin and Matilda McDonnell.
“It’s a club I am really passionate about, especially after how our season ended,’’ said Poolman of the Giants being pipped for the final spot in the semi-finals by the Collingwood Magpies.
“It provides more motivation to go further.
“I think you always aim to be in finals and a success and when it doesn’t happen it just makes you want it more.’’
Youngster Maddie Hay has replaced Green in the Giants 10 for next season.
The Giants 10 are: Caitlin Bassett, Jo Harten, Jamie-Lee Price, Teigan O’Shannassy, Poolman, Hay, Manu’a, Parmenter, Austin and McDonnell.
“Kristiana and Sam were really developing a strong chemistry by the end of the season and I’ve got no doubt that will continue to develop in the coming years,’’ said Giants coach Juklie Fitzgerald.
“Amy and Kiera played vital roles for our team and showed composure beyond their years while Matilda will have greater opportunities in 2020 as she continues to mature as a player.
