Lake Macquarie diver Rhiannan Iffland has completed the rare feat of a perfect season in Bilbao, Spain, by winning her seventh event in a row.
The 28-year-old, of Lake Macquarie, is the first Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series diver to navigated an entire season without a defeat.
Iffland had already wrapped up the overall title before the event but now owns a piece of history to go with it.
She is also cliff diving’s most decorated athlete with four world crowns.
“I’m still pinching myself really,’’ Iffland said after diving in front of 27,000 fans.
“It was actually really tough coming to this event when you already sealed the title in Mostar (Bosnia and Herzegovina) but this year was amazing for me and I want to continue enjoying the sport as much as I have this season.”
During a season to remember Iffland also scored four perfect 10s.
The diver is now heading back to Australia for a time out.
Gary Hunt from Great Britain also secured the world title with an event in hand.
Iffland beat British diver Jessica Macaulay and Canadian Lysanne Richard for the women’s world title.
