Gordon Dixon, Muswellbrook: Man charged after an incident which saw another man stabbed on Wollombi Road

A fight between two men at a home in Muswellbrook has ended in one of them being stabbed in the abdomen and shoulder early this morning.
A 48-year-old man had to be flown to John Hunter Hospital following the altercation at about 12.30am at a home on Wollombi Rd.
The man went to the address, where 22-year-old Gordon Dixon was living.
Police allege the 48-year-old man became aggressive and a struggle broke out with Mr Dixon, before the older man was stabbed.
He was flown to the John Hunter Hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.
Mr Dixon sustained minor injuries and was taken to Muswellbrook Hospital for treatment.
Hunter Valley Police set up a crime scene which was examined by specialist forensic police.
Mr Dixon has been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, common assault, intentionally choke a person, stalk/intimidate, armed with intent to commit and indictable offence, contravene AVO and breach of bail.
In Muswellbrook Local Court on Friday he was granted conditional bail, which requires him to report daily to Muswellbrook Police Station, not to drink alcohol or take drugs and forfeit $500.
His matter has been adjourned until next week.
Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are continuing.
