An alleged fight with neighbours has seen a police officer - attached to the Northern region - charged with assault.
A 39-year-old Detective senior constable was served a future court attendance notice on Tuesday for assault occasioning actual bodily harm and two counts of common assault.
It followed an investigation in February, after a physical altercation between neighbours in the Hunter Region was reported, which allegedly involved an off-duty male officer.
Inquiries also uncovered another alleged physical altercation between the off-duty officer and the neighbour’s son in December last year.
The senior constable is due to appear at Toronto Local Court on December 1.
His employment status is currently under review.
